The cast and creator of Fuller House attended the 2016 Press Tour where they were asked questions about Fuller House. Below are some different quotes taken from different articles. We have linked the source where you can read the rest as well! We will update the website as more articles come out so make sure you keep an eye out on here. 🙂
On the Olsen twins not being in the new show:
“Personally, I was very disappointed that Mary-Kate or Ashley didn’t want to come and join us,” Franklin exclusively tells E! News. “I understand why and no hard feelings, but I really was hoping to get that picture. And in our moment of disappointment, John Stamos and I talked about what to do and we thought for a moment, what if? We’ve known Elizabeth since she was a little girl.”
On if there would ever be a gay character:
Asked if Fuller House might feature any storylines on the subject of equal marriage rights, given how the original series with its three father figures functions as an analogy of sorts, Franklin suggested it’s a possibility. He also related how he’s been told by a friend who grew up with gay parents that the original series was for them a touchstone which enabled them to more easily explain their home life. He added that he is glad there remains such a fanbase for the show.
Bure was asked outright about her willingness to appear in such a storyline, given her defense on The View of the baker who refused to sell a wedding cake to a same sex couple. She insisted she wasn’t arguing against same sex marriage. “I’m always defending religious freedom and that’s what I was talking about on The View. I didn’t describe my personal feelings about that,” she said.
“But,” she continued, “I’m an actress on a television show and I support all things that we go through as human beings and would love all our characters to explore whatever issues that are current in our culture and our society today and I’m 100% on board with that.”
